Sassy Thai Fall/Holidays 2006

Chief Executive Titima Schwarzel regularly travels to her home country, gaining inspiration from village handcrafters and incorporating new techniques in the Sassy Thai repertoire. She collaborates with the artisans, showing them how ancient Thai arts and designs can meld with contemporary American fashions, creating the highly successful clothing lines of Sassy Thai. And now we bring the results to you, our loyal and savvy retailers, that you may offer these new varieties to your customers.

"Ganok" represents the pronunciation of the Thai word for gold. Ceremonial draperies and costumes are often interwoven with gold and silver silk threads in intricate mandalas and depictions of wildlife and Buddhist deities.

Sassy Thai brings the colors of autumn to our Fall 2006 collection, with Gold at the center, surrounded by black, copper, silver, olive, turquoise, red, and grey. The colors are applied to dark denim jeans, matching jackets, and cotton tops. Just as an example, customers familiar with our Spring rainbow will love our Autumn rainbow (5034)

The fall 2006 collection includes

  • dedicated Gold and Silver (5025, 5029)…
  • …our famous taped technique in deep gold lace with matching jackets and t-tops (5026, 5027, 5039, 5020)…
  • …and Gold and Silver studs in flower or swirl patterns for our young and sassy customers (5030, 5046).

Just as Autumn inevitably leads to Winter, the collection weaves in deep reds and black just in time for the holiday season.
  • Holiday version of our popular jeans RD1023 – Red flowers on our black swirl lace (5040)…
  • …and Silver and Olive Rose Lace on jeans, jackets and fun skirts (5043, 5044, 3043, 3044)…
  • Turquoise and Black comes in black swirl shape and blue flower jeans with midnight stars in the sky. (5022, 5045)

Imagine a small orchestra of traditional Thai instrumentalists weaving intricate improvisations on popular themes, and you will see our approach to Fall 2006 manifest itself in all of our popular techniques and styles…

  • …Painted Jeans with Thai art called "Ganok" from our talented artists and painters (5036)…
  • …and always popular dark denim with hand-made black lace. (5031, 5038, 5047)

Our customers love Sassy Thai fits and would like to wear them more often, not only on special occasions. We now offer our blank jeans with a little touch of Sassy Thai. (6002)

Our Fall 2005 collection continues to sell well, and you are always welcome to reorder. (D1013, D1010, D7001, D5005, D5021, D5011, D5012).

From Titima: Continuing Developments...

We have received requests from our valuable customers to offer simpler, less embroidered jeans - a simplified, distinctive look. Several of these designs are currently developing in our sketchpads, and you will see the results soon. We always love your feedback, the greatest inspiration comes from the comments of a friend. Please feel free to email me at Titima@SassyThai.com

Sassy Thai is based on hand-crafted goods, our contribution to a fair and open world trade. We seek out unique and beautiful work from talented artisans throughout Thailand. Some of our embroidered jeans take longer to produce than the others, depending on the processes involved. Craft groups vary in size from village to village, and some of the more intricate jeans travel through several villages to get a variety of designs and techniques applied. Every embroidery and beading process is done by hand in individual homes and shops. Your customers love Sassy Thai because of its unique beauty and style.

Thank you for taking the time to share our story with them, and explaining our dedication to recognizing excellent craftsmanship and handmade arts. Once they understand the process, they will appreciate the time it takes to receive their final pieces.

Looking towards spring/summer 2007, we added

  • Multi-colored laced denim.
  • Tan denim
  • Embroidery on world-famous Thai silk
  • Denim with detailed cutout work
  • Hand-painted jeans
  • and alternatives to denim, bringing Sassy Thai to the garden parties.

We're also developing new tops to compliment your denim:

  • Chiffon Tops
  • Tops with detailed cutout work
  • Vest
  • Bustier
  • Crochet and more…

We are going to launch Spring 2007 in all of our August shows as well and we hope to see you there.
